We are currently offering to Covid vaccines to:
- Over 12 year old
- Health Care Workers
- Emergency Personnel.
If you are not registered with Standish Street Surgery, but live within the Myrtleford Catchment (From Myrtleford township up to Mudgegonga and Murmumgee in the North, Porepunkah and the Buckland in the East, Buffalo Valley in the South, and Everton and Whorouly in the East), you may receive your vaccination on condition that you return for your 2nd dose 12 weeks later.
Otherwise, please wait for your own GP Clinic or state-based COVID Vaccination Hub to commence vaccinations in the coming weeks.
Q: Should I have the 2nd Dose of AstraZeneca Covid 19 Vaccination?
If you have had the first dose of the COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine and did not experience any serious adverse effects, you should attend for your second dose, even if under 60 years of age. The 2nd dose is recommended as per the Government Guidelines. If you are still unsure, please make a face to face appointment to speak with your GP.Q: What if I do not wish to have the AstraZeneca Covid 19 Vaccination?
If you are less than 60 years old, then you can call Albury Wodonga Health or Northeast Health Wangaratta directly and ask to be put through to the Immunisation team OR call 1800 675 398 (COVID-19 dedicated hotline ) and select the Vaccination Option.Q: What are the more serious side effects I need to watch for?
Side effects are rare, but serious side effects are listed below. You should seek medical attention immediately if you experience a severe persistent headache (from 4 days after vaccination) that does not improve with simple painkillers, is worse when lying down (in some cases) or is accompanied by nausea and vomiting. You should seek medical attention immediately if you experience neurological symptoms such as:- blurred vision
- difficulty with speech
- drowsiness
- seizures
- shortness of breath or chest pain
- a swollen leg
- persistent abdominal (belly) pain
- tiny blood spots under the skin, away from the site of injection but together with any of the above symptoms.

Weekdays: 8:15am to 6:00pm, appointments from 9:00am to 12:30pm and 2:00pm to 5:30pm.
Saturday: 9:00am to 12:00pm, appointments available from 10:00am to 12:00pm.

If you require a physical examination, procedure, further tests, or hospitalisation, we will advise you of further instructions to facilitate this. ALL patients are eligible for phone or video consultation.
About our Accreditation

Fees are payable at the time of consultation. Standish Street Surgery accept cash and cheque. We prefer payment by EFTPOS, cash or credit card. The medicare rebate can be claimed at the time of payment in most cases. Pensioners, Veteran Affairs and patients less than 16 years are bulk billed. Health Care Card holders are charged a reduced fee. Please ensure you have your up to date medicare card, pension card, health care card or veteran’s affairs card with you when you visit the surgery. Please speak to our Reception staff for a current list of fees.
Trading Terms: In the event where your overdue account is referred to a collection agency and/or law firm, you will be liable for all costs which would be incurred as if the debt is collected in full, including legal demand cost.
This practice provides an after-hour service. Patients requiring emergency treatment may call the practice on (03) 5751 9900 for the Doctor on call or Alpine Health (Hospital), Myrtleford, on (03) 5751 9300.
There is a doctor from the surgery on call each night and at weekends we are part of a roster that covers the on call in the area. Myrtleford doctors are on call every third weekend from 6pm Friday evening until 9am on Monday morning.
Standish Street Surgery doctors attend to your care out of hours at Alpine Health’s Myrtleford Hospital as private practitioners the service is a fee paying service and there is no bulk billing. An account will be sent following the visit. You will be sent an after-hour account which you can pay over the phone. Through our direct connection to Medicare Easyclaims program, your Medicare claim can be processed on the spot and a rebate deposited to your nominated bank account on the same day.
